At GuideHire, we are admittedly generalists. We like to do a little bit of everything: hiking, skiing, fishing, surfing, hunting, but lately we have been bit by the fly tying "bug" and the whole team can't seem to get enough of whipping up their own patterns. That being said, YouTube is the single greatest resource for any beginner fly-tier. TightLineVideos has made a ton of tutorials that we have found super helpful. This particular video is for tying up one of the go-to flies for anyone targeting Striped Bass, Redfish, Snook, Sea Trout, and various other salty species on varying latitudes: Lefty's Deciever in chartreuse over white. The fly has been known to lure some big large mouth bass as well. We hope you'll find this video as helpful as we did, and have fun out there! Tight Lines.

For our fellow beginner tiers out there, be sure to check out Postfly's Fly Tying Box, and our friends over at Flymen Fishing Co. for specialty hackle and other goodies.
